Its more likely the starter than the flywheel, but always a concern when you can hear the starter spinning. You should be able to pick a starter up from your local parts store for less than $200, plus core if its a rebuilt one.

There's a place where I live that rebuilds starters for 60 bucks. Maybe you have a place like that close by. Something to keep in mind if it is the starter and the solenoid is not replaceable.

Did you ask about the solenoid? Call a couple of local mechanics and ask if they know of anyone who rebuilds starters. Odds are there's someone close.

Actually if it is the flywheel it may not be a big deal. If there are just a couple of teeth missing you probably won't run into the problem very often.

i'll test it when i get home tonight and if it is the flywheel.. when it comes time to do the clutch i'll change it out.. but i'll just leave it if i can move the car a bit and get it to start...... this is just stressing me out because my warranty expired less than 3 months ago on this crap lol

That's always how it works...doesn't matter what it is. Once the warranty runs out, it breaks.

You could give Shokan a call and see what they charge for one. I bought a control fan module from them about a month ago and haven't had any issues. They know their stuff too.
