Default Sti evo

My warranty is about up and I'm looking the dump some money into my car. I got 04 1.8T Quattro MT. I'm looking to keep up with evos and sti. Will a ko4 do it or do I need a big turbo, of corse I will be doing the intake exhaust chip injectors fmic dv valve and clutch. And suggestions.

Your going to need a GT28RS and higher to pull with an Evo, even than they will still spank you.

If the KO4 kit gets you 300AWHP or more and you go against an evo with ECU flash, upgraded downpipe and and exhaust running somewhere around 20 and 22psi (generally they make around 295 to 305awhp with that set-up), you will be find. Before I got my 3000gt to 550awhp, I was running 365awhp my buddy had a 340awhp evo but he had more than the basic upgrades done to it, cams and running 25psi. And I always kick his ***. Plus my car was like 400Ibs more heavier than his. If it's a complete stock evo, you will KILL em.

A K04 A4 with good timing and tune will MAYBE put 200 AWHP (On the dyno. Sure 240 to the crank...)

Damn lol, on the 1.8T? Then what is this thing APR is saying with their K04 kit putting down 318HP. I was speaking based on numbers from the graph that APR says about their K04 kit. Yah he will need a lot more based on that lol.

On a 1.8T yeah a good tune with all supporting mods is about 200 AWHP.
Maybe more / maybe less depending on the dyno. This is with 93 oct too.

Wow, then why such a big different on a 2.0T. From what APR says their k04 kit will make 318hp on 93 oct as seen on the dyno graph. So that is not conceivable? Sorry I am thinking about getting in this platform so I am still new to most of the mods.

i would say an a4 with a ko4 new high flow injectors fmic high flow fuel pump new fuel rail new tune light wheels no interior and take off as many body panels as u can and u might be able to keep up with an sti or evo. But i would have to imagine a ko4 with new tune and rite upgrades to support the ko4 would put out more then 200awhp. I know if u install a chip and injectors the 03 a4 is suppose to get up to 220 so i dont see how throwing a new bigger turbo cant achieve the same numbers?

Yes, 220 to the crank. Some Dyno'd GTRS barely push 250AWHP

Regardless of what you do with a K04, with FWD and stripped interior it would still be eaten by the STI.

K04 is not a big turbo upgrade. Infact it's only punching more torque than a K03.

GTRS with internals so you can set timing and boost according would possibly be able to keep up with an STI. Even than, I know GT3071's that don't pull on an STI with minor mods (Tune, catback, and injectors).
