Default Strange whistle sound

Hello,

When my A/C is turned on I get a whistle type noise coming from the drivers side area under the hood. I only hear the sound under acceleration (2.5-5k). With the A/C off the noise goes away. I've had the car VAGCOM'd with no faults and no CEL.

Also, during acceleration with the A/C the car feels like it has no power at all. Sometimes you get a good amount of boost (which feels like it all comes at once) and majority of the time I need to get the RPM's high to feel the car want to take off. Yes, this is a 5spd

I've checked the immediate areas for vacuum leaks but had no success. Could anybody point me in the right direction or give me some guidance on what to do?

I believe the car has stock DV, N75 etc.. the car has 100k miles.

Thanks for the help,
Josh

if it's only with the a/c on, i would probably check the a/c compressor out. I had mine sieze up on me and snap my serpentine belt. It seems that your compressor is robbing the car of more power than it should.

Whats the best method of checking the compressor? This problem has been going on for 6-7 months now without it getting any worse or better.

Also, could someone link me to a diagram showing where a possible vac leak or hose might be? Thank you!
