Question Sunroof problem

Now I searched through the threads here and did the DIY on fixing the "possessed" sunroof. But to no avail, I must have bent the clip every possible way and still the sunroof would go to almost all the way closed to opening back up. I greased the rails and tried to clean the contacts, and same problem. I managed to get it closed, but it took like 100 tries. I don't know what else to do.

There's always the dreaded buy a new switch option. Not sure what the price is, but I haven't been able to find it on the web, so you might have to call the dealer to even check. Good luck to you. Please post the price if you do check on it, as I'm getting kind of tired of clip bending myself; my sunroof isn't quite right either. At least it doesn't randomly open on its own with the clip in its current state, but sometimes it's hard to get it to close. :P

Does your **** give an obvious "clicking" sound when you turn it or is it a very subtle clicking?

It clicks fine. I bent the clips every which way and same problem. I'm probably gonna leave it as is.

Take it out and have a close look at it. That's what I did with mine and found that it had some broken pieces in it. May not be the same problem I had though. Hard to tell.

i have a similar problem with my sunroof switch. it vents fine and opens fine but refuses to shut when i try to shut it. the only way that i can get mine to shut is to turn the switch to the shut position then hold it down like i am shutting the vent. it works everytime with no issue at all just as long as you hold it until it is fully shut.

2006 A6. Mine became possessed too. Here's the deal. The instructions in the possessed section don't really apply to an 06, since Audi redesigned the switch. It's now a sealed unit, not open-able to the mortal wo/man. It may have some electronics inside it. I have a few photos, will post another time.

Sit down now. The Burlington, Mass. dealer wants $230 for the switch. It's a "special order", not returnable. May 6, 2013.

I'm afraid for that kind of money I'm just going to leave it disabled, which is too bad, since a sunroof is a mandatory feature for me.

Default Sunroof opens on its own

Hey
My sunroof opens when I turn my key to the on position or start. It opens half way stops and then opens completely.
Can someone help?
