Default Tail light tint

i have a 03 a4 and i was thinking of tinting just the white part of my back lights where the turn signals are and my friend got his done for 20$ and i went to the guy and his trying to charge me 80$ to do it so i was thinking of doing it myself, anyone know of anywhere i can get the precut shapes of the tint? or am i going to have to cut them myself

Hey I have a 02 A4 1.8T and I hated the clear side marker lights. I relaced the tail lights with a better looking design...but anyway I went to the autoparts store and they sell spray tint for lights. Its called nightshades and all you would have to do is tape off anything that you dont want to be tinted and spray the rest. I put two coats on my side marker lights and I was amazed by the results! I also did my wifes 02 Mountaineer tailights and they look sick too. I think its like 8 or nine dollars for a can and if you can spraypaint...you can tint.

does the spray paint tint come off? thatd be a great and cheap idea to do if i can take it off at some point.
its illegal in california too thats why i just wanted to do a light tint and just on the white part not on the actual brake/tail lights its not 'as' illegal

as long as its not too dark cops shouldnt hassle you. Dont use film tint unless your a professional cuz tinting that curve it pretty sketchy.

The spray tint will come off as long as you dont clear coat over it. Also it has special stuff in it to make sure that your lights come through it just as clear as they would without it. Like I said before I did it to my wifes mountaineer and at night you cannot even tell that it is done but during the day you can see that they are black. I think that the tint will come off with paint thinner or even maybe scotch brite. Its pretty cool stuff and a light coat wont get you in any trouble I wouldnt think.

i got the nightshades spray. i did it today, sprayed my tail lights, side lights and front side lights and everything came out perfect! until my friend smudged my front left side one when he rubbed against it with his pants >.< im going to have to redo it, im first going to try just going over it see if it fixes it but most likely ima have to take it off with paint thinner and redo the whole thing
