Default TB on 3.0

has anyone on here changed their own timing belt, tensioner and water pump on the 3.0 engine? i dont need to my car only has 43,000 on it but i was readin up in these forums and a few people posted stating that the 3.0 are by far the hardest to work on and most expensive to maintain, taking it to the shop to have it done would cost 3-4 grand!!

$3-4k would suck ... I'm up to 65k on mine, I think the replacement interval is 100k miles?

The timing belt on the 3.0 should be changed at 90k. That is what my dealer told me. And the $3-$4k thing is b.s. I got a quote from my dealer w/waterpump & tensioner of $1200.00.

I dont know, I've been told by numerous audi techs that the 3.0 is way more difficult to have serviced for a timing belt and therefore the labor costs would be higher than the 1.8T. I trust my guy who works on my audi with my life. Hes not BS'ing. I would be kinda worriedofthe "ifseems like its too good to be true, it probably is" saying. I dont know...all places are different i guess and what they charge an hour for labor. Just search around for multiple quotes and see what seems to be more of the same price range for a TB service on a 3.0.

Also got a quote from my local Audi dealer for $1200- thats parts and labor. 3-4K is b.s. dont be ripped off!
