My 02' a4's turbo is whistling as it spools. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How does it sound? It its something like dentist's drill- your turbo is on its way out.

I'd be a little scared if it DIDN'T whistle while it spooled. Umm... I can't say anything in particular because I dont know your previous experience with turbo'd vehicles but if its a subtle smooth whistle noise then its just the turbo doing its job.

 

alright it must be just be on its way out. I was getting on it one day when it started doing so. Anyone know if there hard to change, with the intercooler lines i was unsure if they would be pressurized. thanks. And i would hope there isnt anybody on here that dont know about the natural whistle of a turbo.

 

Well explain what's unnatural about YOUR turbo's whistle. Stating that your turbo is whistling when you get on it is a general statement and quite nOObish no offense. If you're not running higher boost (over 10psi) than stock and have less than 150k miles its very unlikely that your snail is on its way out. More details about its symptoms so we can help you out.
