What all do you want power wise and how much you willing to spend. A gt28r is good for about 300-320bhp (~250awhp) on pump depending on mods.

There are lots of options and you can find most of them in a search.

Forget the 28r and go for the bigger house RS. 500 more RPMs of lovable lag but it is muuuuch better flowing. Want more answers? Search more or ask specific questions.. puleez

The only difference between the 2 is .83mm on the turbine wheel, far from causing 500rpms of lag. Its no more than 200rpm. Both will be at 20psi just after 3k

28r = 225-235awhp on pump
28rs/2871r = 270-280 on pump

We offer plenty of different setups which include Elims and 28rs/2871r setups. Not just Garrett turbos but we offer the HTA's and the new Borgwarner turbos.

Agreed. The larger turbine housing is what creates longer spool time but is much better due to increaded flow. Much better top end.

Man, i finally realized what you were getting to. The housing stays the exact same as any 28, just the turbine wheel is larger.... durgh. I'll recheck my terms next time.

A/R size will change when the boost comes on and how much power the turbo can make.

Funny thing I found on Full-race web site, a dyno graph showing a twin scroll GT30 spooling up quicker then a single scroll GT2871r. So not only did the power come on sooner it also made more peak hp.

SR20DET Dyno Comparison of Full-Race Twinscroll GT3071R .78 A/R (Blue Line) vs. Single Scroll GT2871R .64 A/R (Red Line).
Both runs were about 19 PSI
This is why we are working on doing a Twin Scroll setup for the B5/B6 A4 1.8t

A/R is a measurement, it cant change. As for F-R, they have graphs on evolutionm.net showing that their gt40r TS kit will outspool a T3 gt35r and make more power. They claim the TS 35r wil spool like 400rpms faster and the gt40r like 100rpms faster. To bad the 1.06 a/r T3 is hard to get a hold of, wouldnt mind having a 35r with one.
