Default upper control arms are done

I got it checked out at the shop and the mechanic said that all my upper control arms are broke. This is a dumb question but, how many upper control arms are in our cars? and where can I order some to be replaced?

2 for each side. Stern now offers adjustable upper control arms for the A4.

Here is a picture so you can see where the 2 upper control arms are located.

What if I was able to get you a set at a discounted price?

For the ACA? I would consider it, but it would take me a few weeks.

I'm sorry to jump in, but I was told by the dealer's shop today that my 04 A4 also needs a new upper control arm(s). I was quoted like $1300 to fix, but looking at the picture I see that there are 2 such mechanisms on both side of the front wheel, correct? I didn't know this when I was being quoted the price so I didn't ask the mechanic to clarify for me how many are needed.

In any case, how are these things sold? Are they sold in single pieces or do they sell them in fours? The price that I was quoted, $1300, does that sound like all 4 are needed? I would appreciate any feedback.

They can be ordered as a full set(top/bottom) or bought 1 piece at a time.

I saw your website. Unless I buy the entire kit, they run in 100s of dollars. So why the fk is the dealer telling me it's going to be $1300 to fix? Is that all labor?!?!?
