URGENT! Mechanic stumped!
Hello my name is chris and I drive a 2004 Audi A4 Quattro 6 Speed manual 1.8T. The issue has absolutely taken all my faith from believing that my car is a great mechanically sound car. The problem starts off with a bad coil pack. My car had the typical symptoms of a bad coil back (shaking, decreased power), my mechanic replaced the faulty coil pack and said he drove it and it was fine. I drove the A4 and just 100km after I had the cel flashing and shaking, I popped the car into neutral for about 5 sec and pit it back into gear. It drove perfectly fine, countiuned driving the A4 for about 400km with it happening again a couple times. Now here's where the kicker starts haha! The cel does not flash even when the problem occpurs, but is on due to the evap code which will be fixed with warmer weather. Whenever I drive it for about 10-15 min and park it and later (5-15) min start it up the car with shake like a bad coil pack along with the muffler sounding like it has something stuck in it and coughing. If I leave the car off for 2 hours or more the car will start up fine and the problem WILL occur if I drive it. My mechanic took a look at the coil packs and spark plugs and said they look fine and scanned it for all codes. The only code that came up was the evap code due to the previous owners trying to splice a part of the hose. What is going on?
Other possible symptoms- car sorta sounds like it has a soft high pitch noise when driving.
When idiling it will change from 1100 to 900.
Car shakes a bit but not much when idiling.
When driving up a high around 3700 rpm sorta felt like a cylinder misfired but it drove fine ( the feeling was only for a second.)
Please help me! I can no longer rely on this to get me anywhere and no one quite seems to know what the problem is.

Possibly a vacuum leak. Check all your vacuum lines for cracks or breaks. And don't just look, feel around and tug a slight bit. Something could have a crack, but still be held together just a slight bit by a little piece and you could over-look it. Other than that, I dunno what to tell ya.
