Default Using Vag Com to shut off DRL when parking brake is applied

Hey guys,

Looking for a set of intructions on how to do this. Sick and tired of draining my battery just because I'm using Vag com. Does anyone know how to do this on a 2002 A4 1.8TQ Manual?

Cheers and Thanks

Hi Paul and thanks for the reply. You are correct sir, the DRL remain ON even with the parking brake engaged. I thought at first this was a switch problem but it's not. When the car is on and the PB is engaged, it shows on the dash and on the led display.

hmmm that sounds strange. The drl are the ambers on the outside and the rear lights right and the little lights in the high beams if u have those. have u done any coding thru vagcom to change those settings.

I haven't changed anything on the DRLs with the vag com yet. I have a 2003 allroad and I was surprised that the lights didn't go off with the parking brake because that's how my Jetta works.

Could it be that the E-brake switch is faulty? When I pull the E-brake the little red circle comes on but is that the only switch or is there another one that de-activates the daytime running lights?

No luck as of yet. Tried changing the country code to Germany with the vag com but it didn't change anything. Thinking about attempting to splice the DRLs with the ebrake.

Hmmmm is that what it's going to take? Lol

I'm really surprised that out of all the things you can change using vag com. DRL control is not one of them. A little disappointed but wattayagonna do eh?
