Default Visibility for shoulder checks

I just test drove an 04 A4 and found that the visibility for my shoulder checks was pretty bad. In particular the left side
Does anyone else think this? Is it a matter of using the mirrors more or is there a magic seat position that helps (wishful thinking)?
I'm 6 1

I didn't get much time with the car (15 minutes) so did not get a chance to really adjust but it is something that stuck with me on my overall impression. I'm driving a 97 Jetta right now and can see great so I would not be used to having many blind spots.

im 6'1 or maybe a little more and dont have a problem with this. i mean, the b pillar is def in the way, but you can see enough to know if theres a car there or not.
