Default Weird battery light while driving...

So I started my car, and started to drive. I was doin maybe 30MPH and all of a sudden the battery light turned on. So, I slowed down to like 10 MPH and rolled down my window to see what was going on. I could hear some weird churning noise from the hood.

Scared, I decided to stop the car at a gas station and as soon as I started to drive again, the light turned off and the noise went away.

Has this happened to this anyone before? Should I be worried? What might have caused this?

Just some more information: the outside temp. was around 50 at the time and the engine was still cold, as I had just pulled the car out of my driveway. Also, the left dipped headlamp was blown at the time this happened (not sure if that has anything do with this, but just putting it out there).

Any help at all is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Your churning sound from the hood could be your alternator, check in ther for physical damage. Yes you should be worried because it could be your accesory belt driving everything else in your motor. Check it out and look at it for debris...

Yeah, battery light can be battery or alternator.
