Just noticed winding noise while my car is on at idle and driving. Not hearing the normal whistle type noise and pressure release when releasing the gas. The car does feel like its loss of pwr. Noise does seem to be coming from around the turbo. Can anyone give some advise if this is a bad turbo or any related parts. Any advise is greatly appreciated. Car is 2002 a4 1.8t fwd.

 

does it sound like dentist drill or just rushing air when you step on the gas(kind of like whoosh)?

 

nope no rushing air, took to the mechanic today and turns out the fins on the turbo are bent and also the pwr steering pump is also bad(whinding noise coming from pump) Damn!
