Winter wheels/tires
Hello everyone. Long time reader, first time poster. First off I have used the search button for two weeks on AF,AZ,AW,AS, and I could not find any info on this topic. I have just purchased a 2005 A4 1.8tq6m with ultrasport. It has the 18" rs4 rims. I was wondering if I could fit 16" wheels on this car for winter. I know I could get 17's on it, but 16" snow tires are considerably cheaper. I have found these wheels on 1010 tires, http://www.1010tires.com/wheel.asp?w...l&pc=62-76521S
Tirerack also has some but I could not directly link to them. I plan to get 215/55/16 Blizzacks. From what I have found these are about the best/cheapest winter snow tires. If you have any other suggestions I would be happy to hear them. TIA

thanks AP. I knew that some Audi's came with the 16's. Does the usp package have bigger brakes? When I put in 2005 1.8tq with usp on tirerack it doesn't show any 16" steelies, but when I put in base package it does. Is that just a fluke in their system?
Nope, no flukes. The differences between USP and Base are basically in:
USP comes only with 18" wheels
USP got lower suspension
USP got a bit different stearing wheel
USP got its own Body Kit...
thats about it.... there are some few other extra things it got...
Brakes are all the same... I believe only rear size rotors are 255mm instead of 245mm (old version).

Word to the wise. Before you mount the tires on the rims, make sure the rim clears the front brakes. It probably will, but if for some reason it does not it is easier to return the package if you haven't mounted the tires.
