xenon headlights not working (very dim)
Hi All,
Just bought a 2004 A4, but right before I did, it had the left front fender panel replaced. When I got the car, the level indicator was on. Also, the headlights basically would not come on (just very dim). I assumed it was some fail safe mode because of the level error. So I got vag-com, then reset the error and checked the level output values. All looked good, and level error light went off.
Problem is, both lights still don't come on (they are dimmer than the running or backup lights). It's as if they never ignite. But since they are both doing the same thing, it doesn't seem likely that both blasts have gone out at the same time.
Any ideas what might be going on here?
Thanks for you help!

Ok, took headlight apart. When I popped out the xenon light, and looked inside the projector, there's no mirroring. Housing is also clearly heat damaged (see pic).
Since the whole thing is made of plastic, I'm not surprised it's destroyed after 7 years. (not a good design Audi!) This would explain why the headlight is so dim....
Does anyone know if you can buy just the housing/projector for the xenon lamp? I don't need the entire headlight assembly.
Thanks in advance!
