Default 07 A4 2.0T Quattro with cvt problems?

hello, my roommate has a b7 a4 that has very delayed acceleration but no codes or lights have come on...we were on the highway and he needed to speed up he tried accelerating but nothing happened, he says he thinks it lost gas pressure but i say its something to do with the transmission. has anybody experienced this? it has around 47k on it

I thought A4's with quattro didn't come with a cvt transmission... They only come on A4's with fronttrak.

Uh-oh, that is a symptom of a failed cam follower. There are other things it could be, but many people who have reported a cam follower failure talk about something similar happening, no power at higher speeds and higher gears. At first, lights don't come on. By the time the lights are on, there is damage. Unfortuantly if that is the problem, some, but not all, people have said that the dealer won't do anything until the lights are on. Hopefully it is something else.

Get his *** to the Dealer before his 50,000 mile warranty is up. End/thread

So I took his car out to see if it would do it for me and it seems like it hangs up in fourth...I was cruising in fourth and when I pushed on the accelerator nothing happened. The more I did it nothing really happened rpm and speed stayed constant. I had to flip it into sport and then back into drive for it to start working again
