Hello I am new here and would love for some help!

I have done some research before creating this thread, but I can’t find one that relates to my specific problem. I have a 07 A4 and often when driving the car my EPC light and traction control light come on, and the rough idle starts but only when I’m not on the gas. When I’m on the gas the lights are still on but the rough idle stops. When I’m at an idle, it idles rough for 10 seconds max then stalls. A couple years ago I installed the BSH PCV kit so I believe it isn’t anything to do with that. The car will start right up fine if I give it a little bit of gas, but won’t start just on it’s own. Eventually the problem goes away but comes back unannounced and sure is a pain when at a stoplight or driving in slow traffic.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

When my car wouldn't start with out giving it gas it turned out to be the diverter valve. Sounds like the car is trying to drop into limp home mode (both EPC and ABS lights coming on). Another time I had this issue the dipstick for the oil wasn't pushed in. Car was fine under power but very rough at idle, to the point of dying.
