Default '08 Pricing

I'm a total newb with Audi so bear with me. I've been trying to find a nice '04 or '05 A4 Quattro and in the process of talking to one dealer about a CPO car I guess he put me on his mailing list.

So today I received a email sale notification (deals good thru 5/31)from the dealer for several '08. Whats amazing isaccording to the adthey have carsofferedat below Invoice. One example:
2008 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro -auto-
Ibis White / Beige Interior
options:
- Beige Birch Wood Trim, Audio Package, Convenience Package, Bluetooth, I-Pod , Premium Package

MSRP $38,175
Invoice $35,944
Internet Sale Price $32,944

SoI'm pretty confused on what a new A4 should cost. According to Edmunds TMV the price would beslightly overInvoice, now I see this where the sale price is 2K belowinvoice. Anyone have an explanation, is thistypeof pricingtypical ? Wow maybe I should try to buy new vs used if prices are always like this.

Alsocan anyone tell me how long it takes if you were to order a new A4.

its all about timeing with the market right now they are probably just trying to move cars and not even try and mak money off them. Towards the end of the month you can always get good deals i bet if you walked in there on the 31st you could get that car for 31 out the door.

I dont know how long it takes for delivery.

You're right about the end of the month and especially towards the end of the model year. Sales depts want to meet their month end goals. They're also lookingto move the stock before the B8 hits the showroom floor. Dealers don't want to bepayingloans and taxes on B7s when the B8 hits.

razordog, you should go in to the dealership tomorrow

I've been hearing 10-12% off MSRP on B7s. Today a dealership offered me 4,000 off a B7 with an msrp off 37500.Sounds like you've been offereda pretty good deal!

they are doing their best to move thier inventory because the newly redisgned b8's are expected to be a huge hit, when i bought my b7 the dealer told me that the special edition really stood for them just trying to move the rest of the cars out to clear room

i think you got a hell of a price i would go for it if you can hell, see if they will throw in a free hat too
