Default 2005.5 DV valve and apr chiping

The guy that chipped my car told me that there is no after market DV thats not a pain to install, and that the 05.5+ all have electric DVs.....is this true and if so how sturdy are they, am i liable to kill it running 91 APR?

its a dv triggered by the ecu yea......but its a piece of **** and you'll crack it really fast with the apr chip

the DV is a huge pain to install just becuase of its location.....audi's bolt the DV on the turbo itself unlike many other cars who bolt theres closer to the intercooler.....regardless forge makes a great DV and its prolly worth the labor to have it done by someone else because they have the correct tools which make it alot easier of an install

yeah, i would also love to know how hard it is to install a DV from someone who has done it as i just bought a forge dv with the BOV spacer... and whether it would just be better worth it to get somebody to install it for me.

it all depends on the tools you have and the DIY you have to work off of....i didn;t have the right tools but my diy was real nice, all in all it took me like 4 hours longer then it should have because i got frustrated with the tools and you're defineltly working in a very cramped spot

the shop quoted me at an hour of service, butttt i dind;t listen and went to install it myself....looking back i guess it was worth it to pay for the hour but oh well right?!

from what i leanred from the guys that chiped my car is that the 08 DVs are stronger and dont break....so when you go in to get yours replaced they will put the newer one on...and ur good to go

yeah the outside piece is made of stronger plastic but the piece that breaks (a little orange piece made out of very thin plastic) is still the same on the 08 DV's and that part fails a lot
