Hi all - 1st post here and hope i managed to get into the right category!

Im posting on behalf of a friend who is overseas - her car is giving her MAJOR trouble..

Thats the vin - shows 08 A4..

Shes throwing in about a qt of oil a day - cant get over 20mph.. codes come up relating to oil all the time. Obviously sth is wrong-

She had a local shop change coils and plugs (duh!) which I think is the LAST thing to look at..

My guyess would be perhaps intake manifold seal leaking? or pcv system failing bigtime? Im not really familiar with these motors but if anyone has some idea it wd be gr8- the later models had oiling/piston ring / bore issues resulting in super high oil consumption - do these motors have the same?

I tld her to get a compression test done ASAP, and a leak down too..

Any ideas on what to look for? Ill get some more info shortly-

 

Cars have had consumption issues. At a QT a day (not sure how many miles) it sounds like blown rings or head gasket. Ask her is the coolant has oil in it (if so then head gasket is leaking). Other possible item is a blown turbo.
