Default added interior leds, wanna change door too

so i finally added the full interior led light kit (shout out to krautoparts, great kit and service). the kit has a puddle light (bottom of door) but i was wondering if i could change the red lamp assembly that is on the side of the door. i know this is supposed to be like a safety/warning light but i was thinking a clear lens and white light to match the rest would look cool.
so my question is, has anyone changed/replaced this lamp assembly? is the puddle lamp assembly the same? i wanna get rid of the red lens and add leds if possible. i looked on ecstuning and am trying google now but i cant seem to find anything specific to the side of the door....

so you're sayin that the bottom/puddle light assembly is the same as the red one on the side?

put the license plate bulbs in today and got an error code. i have the red display but i picked up some resistors from radio shack and am gonna put those on based on a thread i found on audizine. we'll see how that works tomorrow.
other than that, the bulbs do work and look good

here are some pics for anyone interested. cell phone quality but you can see the color difference. the yellow may seem brighter at first but the leds are definitely brighter at night and fill the cabin with light

waiting for weather to warm up to add the resistor to the plate light but ill update when i do that

so i added a resistor the lights today and it was kind of a hassle. i used thisdiy led license plate + resistor
basically attached a 100ohm 1 watt resistor to the power connectors for one housing. but oddly when i turned the lights on the warning light still came on and flicked on and off repeatedly. i assumed this was cuz the engine was off. when i started the car the warning went away, obviously a power supply issue but no big deal. so i figured i would attach a resistor to the other housing. this fixed the issue and the warning light didnt come on, even with the engine off. however, when i tried to solder the resistors for a final secure connection, i must have burned out one of the resistors cuz i had issues with the warning light again, but it stays off with engine running. and soldering it was a bitch, i couldnt get it to stick together at all. i sanded the metal parts lightly and it sorta helped. maybe ill try to fix it later, i could also use a new screw for the housing since its kinda stripped now

for anyone that needs to know, i replaced the screws in the license plate light housing. i called my local dealer but they wanted $30 for each housing and wouldnt sell the screws separately. so i went to home depot and got some similar screws. found that a flat head wood screw #6 x 1/2" fit well enough to hold it all together. added a new resistor as well, so now each light has a resistor, and there are no errors
