Default ARP Fuel Pump

Wanted to get so info on upgrades fuel pump. When I called he APR dealer here he told me I should go with the upgraded fuel pump. He told me it would offer me more power (that's a good thing!). He told me it was a solid 20+hp.

Went and looked it up ( http://www.goapr.com/Audi/products/fsi_fuel_pump.html) And it seems like solid info.
Some here have told me its a waste of time. For a$1100 I want to be sure.

hey all, new to the fourm.

I have also researched this subject and the premis is that with the fuel pump replacedment there is a different program which is more aggressive and inturn proivdes more power. I haven't heard any testomonies yet of anyone who has done it.

APR Fuel Pump is defanitly mandatory if your running the apr tune for the obviouse fact that there is a bad fuel cut that restricts the motor for optimal performance...After driving my car and experiencing the constant fuel cut,I got into my buddies b7 with the apr fuel pump, testpipe, exhaust and carbonio intake and also he has the tune for the fuel pump as well and there was a dramatic differnce between ours carsI can hold onto the throttle as long asI want without worrying about any fuel cut.

im skeptical, id have to feel the difference first hand before id buy. I dont think a standard chip would REQUIRE an upgraded fuel pump but i could be mistaken. Im running a chip without upgraded fuel pump and havent had a problem.

If you have plenty of other good mods like intake, ecu, exhuast, fmic, etc. then chances are you have run into the fuel pump limitation. The APR fuel pump itself doesn't give you any HP but it allows you to recover Horse Power that you already have but cannot utilize because of the insufficient fuel you are getting from the stock pump. If you do get the fuel pump make sure you look into the cam lobe wear TSB, this is a must!

Does anyone have an opinion on the Bosch 044 Motorsport Fuel Pump? I see them online for $230.00 bucks.

I want to know the differences between the APR, Bosch, and OEM fuel pump. I think it'd be nice to not pay as much for a fuel pump.

The Fuel Pump allows you to go from stage 2 to stage 2+. Stage 2+ is supposed to be night and day from stage 2. Many GTI guys do it. They also will rebuild your stock pump to their specifications to save money.

Defineatly supposed to be the best mod after your stage 1 mod. Very noticable. You can use other higher flow pumps but you need software to take advantage.

We're talking the High Pressure Fuel Pump here, not the Intake (044 pump). The HPFP is mounted on the motor itself, and supplies high pressure fuel to the direct injection system. It's a absolute requirement to get a new HPFP if you plan to do anything more than a chip. The stock fuel pump is insufficient to supply any fueling needs other than stock output.
The APR pump is a great upgrade as it also has a pump program specific for it that WILL indeed net you a big power gain in the heart of the power band, from 2k to 5k. The torque bump is significant as well.
It's a definite must do mod..
