Default Audi wheel center caps

Hi all. I have an '06 with the standard (at least they're the ones I see the most) wheels (attached). As you can see, the center caps are chipping and the plastic is showing through. Is there anything I can do about this? Can they be painted? New ones are like $50/each (and I assume they'll just do the same thing after a few years)!

Any ideas? If I'm going to spend $200, I've thought about just going all out and getting new wheels when I need tires.

You can get them painted and clear coated.

I painted and cleared mine a few years ago. Pop out the chrome and paint them black. Or platidip them. It will look nice.

I briefly considered it, but I'm not a big fan of the Avus style wheels. I really like the wheels I have--just not the crappy, paint-flecked center caps.

Honestly, if you still have them next year when I need tires, it may be worth buying them just to get the rubber. LOL!

Painting or plasti-dip will look awesome. Make sure you take the caps apart from the chrome. Make sure you go black as trying to match the original color will be hard.

I don't plan on having these wheels past this fall. They have brand new winter tires so they will be easier to sell soon enough.

Purchased a can of Rustoleum Metal Finish Aluminum. Perfect match.

You can also use a brush to touch up the little spots.

Also check out Shokan for some used ones. Make sure to clear coat them if you buy another set though.
