Hi Guys, I am trying to buy this car, the guys says it is A4 B6, and the car as S4 badge at the back with 2.0L engine and front pic is attached. I am trying to figure out if it is B6 or B7? How can I tell?

Also, I am confused, does a S4 comes with 2.0L straight 4 cylinder engine, I thought all S4's have V8.

looks more like a B7. I can't really tell since it's only a picture of the front. Pop the hood and see what engine it has.

 

Sorry forgot to mention, that I will be going to look at the car later, so will know the engine. Thanks for your input on B7.

May I also, ask if there any know or common issue with these cars.

 

Has to be a B7. The B6 had a different front grill and bumper. Also the B6's had a 1.8t not a 2.0t. There is a S appearance package that gives you the looks of the S4 without the big engine and expense. In 2008 that S appearance package became standard.

 

looks like a b7. mine is a 2008 but doesnt have that 'aggressive' front lip on the sides but that may be a euro feature. def. check under the hood and see what other are there too. i would get the VIN and check that with carfax or a local dealer before ya make an offer.

 

From the front it it looks like an A4 B7 SE model with the front lip add on (after market). S4's look a bit different from the front (kind of like an Sline) and the RS4 looks wider and more aggressive. Also the S4/RS4 has silver side mirror covers AND 4.2 V8's. If it is a B6 the front end was added to make it look like a B7. The B6 had 2.0L engines (130-150hp) but not the 2.0TFSI (170/200/220hp). If it has 2.0 on the back and is the B7 model then it is the 130hp version which B7's had in Europe along with the 1.6,1.8T, 2.0T etc.

I would really check this out because if it was tuned or modded it could mean it was dogged and can have problems.

thats my favorite b7 bumper, base style with the lips...
i believe its a audi a4 b7 with the sport package, NOT s-line.
i know that sounds contradicting but i believe it means just sport suspension and tires and/or wheels.

like if u go to audi.com and pick the lowest-end(or maybe one up form the low end) a4 to build u can pick the sport package without it being an sline...
