Default B7 3.2 Tuning

Hi all,

Before I get flamed for asking about this I have goggled and searched this site, There hasn't been a post on this topic in a long while so the situation may have changed.

I have recently purchased a 2009 A4 3.2 Cabriolet (Special Edn) and love it. I did consider the 2.0T but I like the sound and the grunt of the V6 and am not looking to tune the nuts off it.

However that said, I would love to get +10% output without using any forced air and make the exhaust note a little more noticeable. I think these combined would improve my enjoyment of the vehicle that bit more.

My research so far has led me to the following:
ECU -> http://www.kmdtuning.com/index.php?_...productId=1940
Air -> http://www.kmdtuning.com/index.php?_...productId=1467
Exhaust -> http://www.kmdtuning.com/index.php?_...d&productId=55

Has anyone got or have an opinion on the above products?

Would adding the exhaust and air screw up the ECU as the car is no longer stock?

I really am a tuning newbie so any feedback will be much appreciated.

Cheers

Tom

I don't think you'll get flamed, but 2009 is the B8 platform. They have a separate forum for that that may get you better answers.

In the US they kept the B7 A4 cab until 2009, probably identical to the 2008 model year.

Ah, ok. I missed the "Cab" part.

Good luck in your search. Seems like a chip is the best performance/dollar gain, but I don't know if the same holds true for the 3.2L engine.

I cant imagine the chip for the 3.2 would do as much as it does for the 2.0t because it can't add boost or anything. I bet it does add some horsepower but absolutely, those 3 upgrades should deff give you that boost your looking for. The 3.2 isn't as moddable as the 2.0t but as you said before, your not looking for stage3 or anything. Doesnt look like apr makes a 3.2l chip so the unitronic is probly the way to go. But you will be happy if you get all 3 of those

And your ecu should be fine with just those 3 upgrades...mostly ecu upgrades vary your timing for higher boost, exhaust and air intake will not effect your ecu.

also tho either a high flow cat or a test pipe at is....the stock cats are very restrictive, also noticed that the chip will only give you about 15 hp which sounds about right for a non turbo vehicle but deff somethin that throw ur head to the back of the seat

Thanks for the replies, guess I will start with the intake and ECU and see what we get, then maybe look at exhaust. Makav3li, any ideas where you can get a high flow cat? I assume the exhause system is just from the cat back.

Check out 034 motorsports for a high flow cat a reasonable price.

This has been covered alot but do not be surprised to spend $1,000 and be very dissapointed. You will be lucky to spend that amount and steal 10 hp.
