Morning all,

My son recently got the above car which needs quite a bit of tidying up.. When driving it home I noticed it wasn't coming up to temperature, and the cabin fan was always blowing cold air. I changed the thermostat the other day and pulled the upper heater matrix coolant hose off to bleed the air out after refilling the coolant, but nothing ever came. With the hose off completely there was just a trickle of coolant coming out.. When I took the lower hose off the coolant was gushing out but in hindsight that may have been due to the reservoir being elevated.. I can stick the garden hose in both matrix inlet/outlets and there's plenty of flow out the other side, but no coolant seems to be moving with the engine running. She does now come up to 90 degrees with the new thermostat, but there's never any hot air.. I've checked the flap motors and they all seem fine, there just seems to be no coolant getting to the matrix..
I've read about 'coolant control valves' or various names of the same thing, but I can't for the life of me find where it's located either on the car itself nor on google..

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
