Default b7 exhaust helpp

i have a 2006 audi a4 and im trying to get my car louder. i was looking at catback systems but they are a little too expensive. i ran it over to the exhaust shop and they told me my cheaper options were to just to take my resignators out and run stright pipes thru there or to get two magnaflow mufflers with new tips. any suggestions? does anybody know if the car sounds nice without a resignator?

I have a custom exhaust, with two magnaflow mufflers and no resonator. I think it sounds pretty good. I also have a high flow cat, which helps make it significantly louder.

I'm happy with the sound. With the top and windows up, I don't really even notice it too much when I'm by myself. When there are other people I'm talking to, it's a noticeable background noise. With top/windows down, it's pretty loud, I wouldn't want it any louder, but I like the sound. Here are a couple videos I made. It's louder in person.

-thats sounds really nice, i wanted to go with the OBX Exhaust on ebay for 500.00 bucks (but its gotten mixed reviews from people) and get a y-pipe, with a stage 2 apr tune..... eventually lol

-if you dont mind me asking how much (average/estimate) did it cost to do your exhaust?

I got the 034 HFC for about $350 shipped, the two mufflers for a little under $300 shipped, and then $300 for the exhaust shop to put it all together with custom piping (3" from the downpipe).

I always liked Magnaflow or Dynomax Ultraflow mufflers. I would go with a muffler shop with these mufflers and you will save a ton. You will not gain much if any on our stock exhausts on the Dyno so no since dropping the dough on a name brand. The testpipe / cat will be the main power increase in the exhaust.

Resonators left in will keep it less raspy and a little quieter. If you are unsure I would leave them in and take them out later if you want it a little louder.

I found the OBX to be a good deal, especially, since it came with a DP. Mine is mated with a VMR TP.
