Default B7 Onwers did i miss this? 2.0 T FREE REPLACEMENT COIL PACKS

http://www.audicoils.com/

To find out, just use the pull-down menus below to enter the Year, Model and Engine of your vehicle. If your vehicle is affected, the site will give you a projected notification schedule. If you don’t know what engine is in your Audi, follow the instructions below to find your engine.

Find your engine
Most Audi models have an engine displacement badge on the back of the trunk lid or tailgate. For example, a 2.0T badge indicates a 2-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine; a 4.2 badge indicates a 4.2-liter V8, and so forth.

If your model or engine does not appear in the menus below, your vehicle is not affected
by the Ignition Coil Inspection & Replacement Program.

Your approximate notification date is Dec 2009 - Apr 2010

I received the initial notification back in November or early December. I am waiting for the next notification saying that there are enough coils on hand at the dealership to swap them all out. The dealership seems to think that the coils will only get replaced as they malfunction. According to the letter, all effected coils will get replaced whether the they have failed or not. I am not dealing with having to wait until failure. I did enough of that with my Jetta.

Wow, I just went in for the car's oil change, and mentioned the coils again. I just asked for a possible time line for when I might need to set up an appointment, and when the car came back less than an hour later, both the oil and the coils were changed. I was expecting to have to wait for a while, since Audi was starting with the older models first. I am really impressed. I don't have to wait for a malfunction.

I got the initial letter that told me to wait for a further letter. In the meantime, one of my coils failed, and only that one was replaced by the dealer.

here is what my stealership told me in an email today "The recall is not showing open yet on your car. Once Audi ships the coils to the dealers you will receive a letter instructing you to come in. This could happen anytime between December and April".

funny how I inquired about this issue before purchasing my wife's used 2006. I guess I should expect something in the mail in the mean time.

I don't know how I was able get the coils all replaced so fast, unless the dealership felt bad for me.

You see, my 2000 Jetta GLX had everything go wrong with it over the years, so I was at the dealer constantly for maintanance and repairs. It was comical because the people on the other end of the phone knew my voice, and did not have to ask who was calling to set up an appointment. The running joke at the dealership was that the "car was missing us again, and wanted to come visit." Those visits were usually expensive ones.

The day after getting the coils replaced, I learned about the cam follower problem with the 2.0t FSI's. So here we go again. May I catch it before it trashes the engine.
