Bad oil pressure sensor??
I have a 2007 Audi A4 2.0t it has 181k miles and I just got the engine pretty much rebuilt. It needed a new crankshaft but the mechanic also cleaned the pistons and and cylinder to the point where they look brand new, I got a new top end that was resurfaced with new valves and cams. So the top end is brand new. When I picked up my car from the shop, it had a low oil pressure light on, and so I took it back and they replaced the sensor and put new oil, when I picked it back up again, I left the shop and same thing, still had the light. So the mechanic was saying it could be the oil pump. But the thing is, the oil pump was working fine before I brought it in, I just needed a crankshaft. So I decided to try to fix it myself, I did an oil pressure test and it came out to 60 psi which I read online was that’s the operating pressure your car should be running at. So I replaced the sensor myself with a hood sensor and the car ran for a while. But after a while the light would turn back on, I’m not sure what’s going on now. So I’m hoping someone can help me out or where I should start. I’ll take the car back to the shop if I can’t figure it out.
Is it leaking? Technically no, it could safely be ignored for... well forever so long as you keep oil in the car and there are aftermarket ways to put in another sensor... sooo what's up
