I had the APR 91, stock, and security lock programs. The programs got erased by the dealer when I took my car in for service. Audi had a TSB ecu flash update and needed to be done, I will be taking my car back to the shop to have the programs loaded back on. The difference between the stock program and APR is night and day, it adds more power and torqe..best bang for the buck. Another chip to check out is Revo, but there's really not much difference powerwise between the two, just go for which ever the nearest authorize dealer is. Keep in mind, if you have the older version DV and PCV, they will fail due to increase boost(they will fail eventually without chipping, they're just weak). When mine failed, the dealer replaced them with upgraded versions for free. Be warned though, once you chip/flash your A4, you will get HFS (Heavy foot syndrome) with the new found power. It has also improved my mpg since I don't use heavy acceleration just to get up to speed....good luck

The APR chip I got for my 08 A4 was the best money I've ever spent. I dred putting it back in stock mode to take it into the dealer for scheduled maintenance...

Would you believe I kept up with an M5 the other night while driving home......there is no way in stock mode that would have happened....

For APR, I purchased 3 programs (91oct, stock, security lock-out). You can change the programs by pressing the button at the end of the cruise control lever.

As for installation, an authorized APR dealer has to do it. It's a software that is download from APR's server into your ecu

It takes about 5-10 minutes at the APR dealer to get the programs installed. Then you can switch between them instantly using the cruise control.

Cruise control continues to work as normal. The APR functions are only activated when you hold it in "resume" or "set" for a few seconds. And if you get the lockout, they aren't activated at all until you unlock it.

Not sure how to check version on the DV and PCV.

Default Cost??

How much did people pay for the chip? I am looking at getting chipped and have the ability to go back to stock. I see people getting the 91 octane. Why not 93? Any reason?

In California we don't have 93 octane gasoline.

I paid $800 for a fully loaded program (stock, 91, 93, 100, fault code reset/throttle body alignment, security lockout) during a sale.
