Default Converitble "latch" assembly problem

I don't even know the name for this part, which is making it hard to figure out how to fix it. I have a 2009 A4 convertible (made in 2008). In the trunk is a latch that can create space in the trunk (for more luggage) or less trunk space to fit the retracted top.
What's that called?
The assembly has a plastic guardpiece that fits across the back and folds.
What's *that* piece called?
That piece has come off, and there seems to be a trick to putting it back in so that it stays.
I'd like to fix this, but need some pointers. Thanks!

<edit>Adding two pics that might help.

*shrug* Not a lot of Cabriolet owners here. I for one know nothing about Cab-specific stuff, so it's a waste of time to speculate.
