Hi all!

Just wondering if someone can give me a approx. cost to lower my car about 1". I do not have the A4 s line sport suspension but like how its a bit lower. Any ideas before I go and call a shop? Thanks.

depends what you want really, if cash is an issue you can get a set of lowering spriongs that will run you about 250 and prolly another 250 to install them, its not a horrible thing for your car but it will put added stress to your suspension

if cash is no issue at all go with a nice coil over set up, you can adjust how low you want your car at any time, and its the best suspension mod you can do, those typically go for around 2500 and your probobly looking at around 5-7 hundred dollar install

good brands to look for would be eibach, tien, bilstein search the forum as well, there is a great sticky about suspension filled with info to help you out

2500 for coilovers ? what coils you looking at. if you want awsome coils then get KW v3 under 2g's. A typical coilover suspensiion goes for 1000-2000 depending on company/quality. If you want something cheap then just get lowering springs. H&R offers sport springs that lower around 1" and also a more aggressive at around 2" which i have. I dont know the cost for these but will not cost more than 300 for the aggressive springs.

here is what the car looks like with h&r springs that lower around 2".

vtracer20,

Thanks! I just purchased the H&R sport springs and will be getting them put on this thursday. I was hoping that my car won't be too low and be whacking everything around. But when I look at your pic its looks awesome! Do you have any problems hitting the road? Thanks!!

Do you think youl could find out how much (near exact if you cantfind receipts)it cost you to purhcase and install. Thanks!

I personally didn't put the H&R's on the car, they came with the car. I personally would save for coilovers. or you can do a spring/shock combo. The springs with stock shocks is a little too bouncy for me. It's a great feel in the corners but normal ride, going over bumps the stock shocks dont rebound fast enough for me.

whats the difference between a spring/shock combo and coilovers... i thought that coilovers just combined the springs and shocks into one piece but now i feel like im mistaken, but i do really wanna save up for coilovers but they are so expensive
