Default Faint Buzz or Hiss

I just bought a 2005.5 A4 and am just getting used to all the great new features.

I have noticed, however, that while the key is not in the ignition and nothing is on, that there is a slight buzzing or hissing coming from what seems to be the speakers. It sounds like the speakers are on with no input - very light hiss.

Has anyone else noticed this, or know what might the cause?

Thank you

Dude, I have the same issue. The place I bought it from supposedly had it fixed, but when I got it home, I noticed it again. Took it to the dealer and they said that it is the communication system engaging, for when you use nav. or bluetooth. I've noticed that sometimes it doesn't come on until I turn the headlights on, but it's annoying as hell since the speaker is right behind my head. Doesn't make sense in any way shape or form to me. GRRRRRRRR.........

Well, they are right. I found out (on another forum) that it is the nav system getting ready for when you turn the car on. It engages when you open the door, so it has less boot up time when you start the car.

If you sit in the car for about 45 seconds with the doors closed (it might take the doors being locked too, I don't know) it will stop.

Do you mean sit in the car without starting it? It definitely doesn't stop after 45 seconds for me, but that's with the car running. Drives me bananas!!!
