My headlight switch has got tatty so I have bought a replacement kit of the outer ring and inner **** to fit to the original switch.

I know how to get the headlight switch unit out of the dash by pushing and twisting and I can get the outer ring off but the actual switch centre **** just will not budge. I am afraid if I pull any harder I will break the switch itself.

Am I missing a trick here?
