Headlights and Windscreen Washers Stopped at same time?

Headlights and Windscreen Washers Stopped at same time?
I am a newcomer to the Audi Forum but I know this is the right place to start.
AUDI A4 - 2.0 TDI - 2008 S Line
The basics have been checked, the bulbs are OK and fuses in the box next to the drivers door seem OK.
Both Headlights and Fog lights stopped working at the same time as did the WindScreen Washers Jets when you pull back the stick no water but it does still operate the wipers themselves. The indicators are not affected. I have 2 working dim sidelights on both sides and 1 Full Beam Headlight if I pull back the stalk and hold.The rear lights are ok, the indicators ok...
Is it a Relay? Although everywhere tells e there are no relays it's in the stalk?
Any help advice appreciated.
