Hey everybody, hoping someone here can help me out. /i have 2006 a4 2.0T quattro and yesterday out of no where my car started idling rough, lost power, and then the CEL came on. I checked the code and it came up with "cam shaft positioning sensor" so today I took off work went and bought a new sensor and installed it. Started the car up and the light came right back on and the car is still running rough. I've read about the followers failing but I'm not sure if thats the case? has anyone had this issue or maybe know what is causing it? any help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

 

if its a cam problem you would want to talk to some guys on here on the forum that know alot about it, look around for a guy called 2wdblazer he knows alot on this, he helped me out with some questions.

i dont know much about cam situations on our b7's because i have an 08 and apparently the problem was fixed by then... i hope lol

If it's a cam follower failure, Audi of America is warrantying that up to 120k miles and 10 years, I believe it is. You should be able to get it fixed under that warranty if that's the issue.
