Default Help deciding between A4's

I was about to sign papers for an '06 A4 when I saw another one that caught my eye. The one I was originally looking at was a 2006 A4 2.0T, 24,000 miles, premium package (heated leather seats, sun roof, 17" wheels) silver exterior, black interior for $23,000. The one that I just saw is a 2006 A4 2.0T, 16,000 miles, fully loaded (premium package, tech package, cold weather, nav, xeon headlights, 16" wheels) white exterior, tan interior w/ wood trim, everything on it, for $27,000. I was planning on buying a Garmin GPS and upgrading the headlights to xeon myself, but do you think its worth it to spend the extra $4,000 and just get all of it installed already? I'm not sure how good the Audi GPS is compared to a Garmin or the stock xeon compared to aftermarket. Any opinions appreciated. Pictures included of each. Any opinions are welcomed.

It looks like the additional $4K will get you a bit more than just those 2 things, but my personal preference would be to go with the lower mileage higher cost car and not spend any of my time adding the wanted options - plus I like the black interior much better

I liked the black interior better just because it doesn't show dirt as much, but I do like the white exterior more. I'm just not sure if its better to do the upgrades myself or just have it all built in. Do it myself I could always change things around if there are any problems (buy a new GPS, etc) but built in is integrated and organized.

Hi

I would go with the lower mileage Audi and l would also see how long the existing Audi warranty is. Keep in mind it's 4 yrs from the date it was first put into service.

Check out this site eimports4less.com l bought my 05 vert there 3.0 every option except nav there and l am able to buy at dealer only auctions. I bought mine there and the car didn't have a mark on it, it was as new with 17,000 miles and had the free Audi Maintenece program. They ship cars all over the states.

Anyway good luck.

Alan

PS l paid $2500 over wholesale and $6000 cheaper then at an Audi dealership and there was no contest as far as condition. The downside is that a dealer gives you on a CPO Audi an additional 2 yrs and 50,000 miles Audi Warranty which is worth $3000 (discounted)

Kingman, thanks for the link. We actually have a dealers license and go to Adesa wholesale auctions all the time. The main reason I wanted to buy from a dealer was that I get the 2.5 yr / 50,000 original warranty as well as a 2 yr / 100,00 mile since its certified. Plus, the cheapest I found this car for at wholesale was only a few thousand less.

Hi

The Audi extended warranty is a big deal and they know it. At Manheim (Pa.) l found very little in the condition that l wanted and the bulk of the verts were out of Riverside. Even though l used the simulcast function there is nothing like seeing it in person.

It's the same with Vette's, the auctions are not the place to pick one up for personal use.

If you want to save yourself some money, go with the silver car. If you think the lower miles and more equipment justify the higher price, go that route. IMO, Xenons and NAV are not worth what they list for, especially if you are just going to spend $800 on them aftermarket. You wont be dissapointed by the Quattro and overall driving experience of this car! Good luck

I vote for the Silver. Save the 4K and add aftermarket for less. I even think the 17"s handle slightly little better too, so if your not going to switch out the wheels...

I have a Gray B7 and was given a white B7 loaner with the tan interior. It got dirty within minutes and, by day 3 of winter driving, the exterior was gray.

I say go with black interior, I'm a big fan. Cheaper and prettier inside!
