HELP! Lease up in 4 days- buy it?
I have a 2007 A4 in red with the beige interior, the 3.2L engine, manual transmission, Pirelli tires with 1000 miles on them, it's in excellent condition (I am very particular with upkeep), it's loaded with almost every option, has never been in any accidents, has no body imperfictions, and has only 32K miles on it. My lease is up in 4 days.
Audi wants $21K to buy the car, and the dealers I have been to (both Audi and the others) will only give me about $18K for it as a trade. I do however see similar cars listed and they are selling for $28K - $30K. The car has never been in an accident, and is garaged.
I am thinking of buying it, getting the dealer to make it a CPO for me so I can have the extended warranty- if possible. Is this a smart buy, or should I just walk away from it?

If you like it it's a decent deal. I personally would use this as opportunity to get a newer model A4 or get the same with a turbo. Just not a fan of the 6cyl but that's you call.
Wish I could get out of mine but the wife put way too many miles for it to have any value left.

My advice would be that if it's the car you love and you want to drive it until it's 10 years old and well over 100k miles, then buy it and love it. If you're just going to want to trade it in another couple years, the residual seems just a bit high to me. $28-30k is well outside what it's worth even dealer retail. They sell 2009's for that around here.
I'm partial to the 2.0T and quattro, so I went that route. The one I got was a year older than yours, but had about the same mileage (35k). I picked it up for about $2k less than they're asking for yours. Could be the area of the country you're in, but that seems just a bit high--even a 3.2L. But, like I said, if you love the car and plan on keeping it. You know its history, so that's worth something.
