Default How to hook up a non-ipod MP3 player via headphone jack

Does anyone know how to hook up an MP3 Player (MS Zune) to the Audi Symphony Stereo in their A4? Is there a module or some such that can be purchased to allow this functionality?

Thanks,
Blake

I just use a tape adapter. They're pretty simple to find. They are a tape that u put into the tape slot with a cable leading out that connects to the mp3 player, but this only works if you have a tape player, and i don't think the 2008 a4 has one. mine's an '06

The Dice unit I hooked up has an Ipod and an Aux line in. It works great, even has gain controll.

Jason,

How easy was it to install, and what button do you press to hear the audio?

Thanks,
Blake

Thumbs up

It took me about an hour. Do you have Sirius Radio? If not it makes it a lot easier because if you do, you have to run wires to the trunk mounted tuner. To listen to my aux in all I have to do is hit CD11 (I think) and then switch track up to go from Ipod to Aux. That's it. Works like a charm.
The important thing is to know what options you have on your factory radio.
I had 6 disc in dash, Sirius, AM/FM.
Now I have 6 disc in dash, Sirius, AM/FM, Ipod, aux in.

Nope...I do not have Sat Radio. Although I do have the in-dash 6 disc changer. Does it come with idiot-proof install instructions?

It's not that hard and the guys at their tech support line are real good.

Here is a link to the one I bought.

jason, where did you route your iPod when you installed this? did you put it through to the glove box or somewhere else?

routed the cable to the glove box through the factory ipod hole. Had to poke it out but it wasn't that hard.

Default ipod/tape format in 2006 audi problems

hey all:
Hoping you can help me. Found this thread as I'm looking for help with my tape/ipod player. I just got it and luckily my 2006 audi quattro. 2.0 has a tape deck. When playing its fabulous. However the tape machine keeps switching sides on me thereby disrupting the flow of the music. I can't seem to figure out how to change it so the tape deck doesn't keeping switching sides automatically? Some days I just want to chuck it out the window.

thanx all....
