Tell the sales guy you want to deal with the manager only. Find out what they have in that car. Offer him your price directly. I do not talk to sales reps anymore because they play that game. Let me run away and ask my manager.

Sit with the manager and have your trade ready or check book handy for the DP or have some pre-approved financing to throw in his face. Be assertive and if he will not deal be ready to walk on him. Do not buy any car from that dealer and show him where else you are looking.

They will deal with you if you are aggressive. That sales guy wants max commission and thinks you will be back at his price.

You did not say if it was Quatro or not. If it's FWD you should definately be able to get it at your price.

both are Quattro.

I wish it was closer to my house. its a 1.5 hour drive, and i dont want to drive for nothing (i've done that before). Maybe I will call them back today, speak to the manager and make a $24,500 offer

Call him and only talk to him. Tell him you are a serious buyer and are ready to do a phone deal. I bought my GTI from a 2 hour distance and I was putting it off because of my wife's schedule to take me there. They did the deal on my terms and also dispached 2 people with all the paperwork in hand and drove the car to my door. Signed it all on my kitchen table and there was no charge.

Do it. 0.9% financing on AUDI CPO cars right now as well. Can't beat that.

You will be sorry if you do not get a CPO. Talk to another manager or the finance manager. Sometimes the owner works there too. Someone with pull is supervising the place. CPO is 100k warranty and you will use it. Trust me.

will see what happens tomorrow...... the 08 has warranty until 5/12. I will most likely sell the car by that time.

ps. was at auction today and saw a real nice 06 S4 DTM 25Quattro edition. only 250 cars made ! too bad no warranty on that car.

IMHO, the '07 a4. I completely agree about being firm...I used to professionally detail for a dealership and trust me, they are SCUM bags when it comes to selling cars. They will tell you anything you want to here and they try to stay firm on their price - however, knowing what I know from the INSIDE of the dealership, they HURT for business. Besides, now is the time where you can use the economy's status in your favor. How many people do you really think are going out and buying new Audi's at $30-50k with the job market the way it is. Luckily I'm in the medical field but not everyone is as lucky. Push and push that manager til he breaks...he will; believe me. If he doesn't, screw him. Wait until you see another great deal come along and take your business elsewhere. I think you will be more pleased in the end with the looks and features for what it sounds like the '07 has... and between 07 and '08 there is basically no difference, only you're ability to say it's one year newer than the other...and 3k mile difference...c'mon I can put that on a car within a couple months...so you're not saving anything there unless you're a garage it and leave it type of person lol But who buys an audi to garage it? Drive her like she was meant to be driven!
