My previous help will get you close to 300 on the stock turbo. You decide on the amount you are looking to spend.
You do realize the stage III kit can produce much more power than advertised don't you? They just tune it lower so you don't snap an engine rod. If he decided to go inside the motor and put in better rods, pistons etc. he could push into the 500 horsepower range with that same kit installed.

I realize that. Wheather or not he wants to dump the money for the kit and another ton of cash for the rod change would be up to him. Im just giving suggestions on maxing out the stock setup.

I personally don't have that kind of money for either and can/will only max out my stockness. But thats me and my advice on how to do it. If I had that kind of dough i'd have a different car.

Thats the thing. I dont have that kind of dough just laying around either and I am really careful with my money so I am trying to balance between performance and satisfaction if you guys know what I mean. But even if I spent that much money, that wouldnt be too bad considering the base price of the car was 12 grand. All I can say is that I will do the testpipe and fix the BOV issue this week and then probably look into upgrading the fuel pump. Any other suggestions for high pressure fuel pumps or is APR the best way to go? Also can I mess with the stock turbo that I have or not really? And I do appreciate your help guys! Thanx!

Default Slow Down

Alright, this thread has been one of the best yet that I have ran into. I am a newbie to this forum, the car and the brand itself. That being said, I may very well be "special ed" still at this point...

If I might ask, forgive me if I am asking what has already been answered, that just means I dont get it yet. :-)

I have the "sled" - 08' a4 2.0T, and after months of jumping around on this forum I still cant really be sure where to start. That being said, where do I start?

I am not looking for part numbers, but some specifics would be helpful and/or where you recommend buying from; there are tons of websites alone for parts and such.

Ideally I would like to fit the suspension with a true s-line setup (I just have the trim) and get some things happening with the exhaust, etc...

Appreciate the time,

mkraft...sounds like you need to do some more reading...

AZ has tons of information...a lot more information than can be found here, so I suggest hitting up the search function over there...

I would say check out www.goapr.com. They have a bunch of specials going right now. I think the way to go is High pressure fuel pump which is on sale now and free shipping, carbonio air intake, upgrade the exhaust and go for stage 2+. All these are on sale at this time. I just ordered my HPFP today

You are learning my friend. Let me know how your car feels after the HPFP, test pipe, and stage 2+ re-flash. You won't regret it.

Default ECU Upgrades

What's everyones take on the ECU upgrade and voiding the warranty? I have heard there are things that can be done so a dealer does not recognize it, but is this fool proof? One of the main reasons I bought an 08' was for low miles and a great warranty; I don't want to ruin this benefit.
