Info on 2006 Audi A4
Hey,
I'm looking to buy a 2006 Audi A4 2.0T (mayb quattro). Just wanted to ask all the 2006 A4 owners out there what they think of the car? How's the quality? What repairs have you done to it so far? What's broken on you? I'm looking to spend around $20-$23k before tax. I've seen some in auto trader for around this price with anywhere between 50k-80k km's on it. When taking it for a test drive or looking over the body, are there common problems or other problems you guys feel I should be looking for? This will be my first Audi.
Thanks.

I own 2006 A4 but 3.0 TDI, so far its perfect. I didn't have any problems with it so far, and i hope i never will. Befer my audi, i had a VW Golf V GTI with 2.0T and i loved that engine, it never let me down, it was working really nice with DSG. You gonna love that car, you got my word on that.

I have an '06 2.0T Quattro and I love it. I haven't had a single mechanical issue with the car since picking it up in Sept 2006.
I think you should be able to find a much lower mileage car for the 20k to 23k range. Try looking at the 2005.5...it'll save you some $$ and is the same car. (they refreshed it mid year 2005) You should go with the Quattro over fwd.
I'm in Boston and was at a dealership the other day and saw a CPO 2005.5 loaded with a manual tranny and 40k for $22k.

I love my 2006 A4 2.0T. I have not had any problems thus far but I've only had the car since June. My vehicle is a CPO with 23K miles which I purchased for $24,000 @ 1.9% financing. It is still under the 4 year 50K original warranty and includes AudiCare. In addition, the dealer threw in an additional 3 year 100K miles extended warranty. Look around there are some good deals to be had. If you are in So. Cal I'd be happy to give you my salesperson's phone number.

This post seems to be convenient...
I currently own an e46 M3, headers to full exhaust and it is retuned, so gas mileage obviously isn't the best. I am turning it into a track car so I have been comparing quite a few cars for DDs.
I have been taking a look at slightly used G35x, IS250 AWD, and the B7 A4s. Visually I am set on the Audi for both interior and exterior; however, I was curious to see what real world gas mileage is like on a full tank? Also, anything you didn't like about the car?
Thanks in advance...

Hey all,
Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm living in Ontario, Canada. But i'm looking for an Audi in the US since there are waaaaaay better deals down there. 2006 A4's with 50k miles typically go for 25000CAD up here.
I've been searching on autotrader.com and there are some good deals on 07's with lower mileage with similar price tag in Boston, Chicago area, and I visit those cities frequently, so might check it out. I would like to check out the Cali area, but that's a little far for me to go there and check out a car. I might end up just hiring an importer if something really good is from Cali.
Veems, I'm also looking at and IS250. Let me know what you think of those cars. They typically are a couple grand more expensive from what i've seen so far.
CGMiller - can I get your zip code so I can do a quick autotrader search for audi's in that area? Also you dealer info would be great. The deal you got sounds just like what i'm looking for.

your reply but the best
I have the best 06 a4, other than the rs4! I own the 06 b7 a4 S-line Titanium edition. I chipped it. I have had no Problems what so ever. And if you are lucky you can find one under 50k so you can have the audi warranty. mine is the only in the us that looks like this. but deffinetly get the quattro, and enjoy, you'll never go to another car. But you will be dissapointed you didn't buy the RS4

I picked mine up on April 2006 and still love it today. No major issues, I had it chipped when it hit 800miles and had to replace the diverter valve(warranty work - weak oem part) due to increase on boost. Dealers have the updated parts now.
As for mileage, it really depends on how you drive. I've driven mine where it did approx. 18 mpg on a fun canyon run(RPM was ranging from 4k - 7k). When we drove home from KY, the car did about 39mpg....yeah 39...I had to calculate it twice just to make sure it was right. This was all highway
