Just got the car on Saturday and figured I should join a forum since I already love it, sold my CTS early last year to get my wife a Subaru, so I'm glad to be back in a luxury car, and Audi's have always appealed to me.

The car has 73k miles on it, any advice or general concerns with that year I should pay attention to. It's Cruise Control wasn't working and the stealer will be fixing that soon under warranty.

Any information is helpful, and I look forward to learning about modding and seeing if it's something that I want to do. I did read through the newbie guide a bit, so I saw they're mostly reliable, but was wondering if I should be replacing the timing belt, I saw it seemed to be an issue on the older models. If it is a known issue I might be able to get that done for free too. Lots of issues it seems, I'm going to take it to a mechanic who can check all the things on the important facts guide, but if there's anything else I should check, please let me know.

Reliable car all around (most of us agree on that). For your year the cam follower could be an issue, but Audi recently extended coverage for that. Not sure the mileage for a timing belt on the 2006, but on the 2008 it is 115k and I am planning on doing mine in the 105k range.

Some have oil usage while other don't. I can pretty much go 7500 miles with out adding oil (which is my oil change time anyhow).

Bought mine with 60k and already have 90k (I have a long commute to work) and haven't had a regret yet!
