Smile Just like to say hi & a few q's

Hey guys,
like to introduce myself here, name is Hank.

I am a noob here, & just bought a used 08 A4 Sline 2.0 T FWD ,my 04 1/2 VW GLI got totaled.

I would like to do some mods to my A4 for more performance HP wise.

I know about chipping a vehicle,& am concidering a APR chip or Revo.

Just was wondering what are some easy low dollar basic mods I can do to make it run better. Like a electric fan for the intercooler.

Lower temp thermostat, OK,not OK to do?

Install a methanol injection kit?
N75 valve?

Things of this nature.

One more thing,I would like to have a boost gauge & mount,,what is out there that you guys like?
Thanks
& hope to stay here & learn for some time.

Hank

Check out podi.ca I just wish they had one for my car. As for everything else, not too sure...isn't much out for mine yet and used to tuning my bike. Haven't tuned any cars yet.

umm im gonna start off and say please search the list of threads before you post because it only shows that you didn't even try to look for them

intercooler fan - bad idea
k&n air filter - good idea, no hp gains but you'll have to get it for the chip your thinking about

meth injection is pretty serious i don't think its pratical to have a meth injection before considering a larger turbo, fmic, exhaust, so on

boost gauge - a few companies make boost gauges and fit kits that go around the stalk of your steering wheel but my personay favorite is the boost gauge in the drivers A/C vent

you will need a new DV forge motorsports makes a really good one that holds up to pretty much anything

intercooler fan - bad idea Why?
k&n air filter - good idea, no hp gains but you'll have to get it for the chip your thinking about How about it causes for quicker turbo spool up time?

Alky, Progressive adjustable kits start @ $360 not too far out of the practical range,,,is it?
Adding meth to a small turbo super heating the air out of it's effiency range, that's when you do install a methanol kit especially.
I am curious if people here have used them,,, & if so what kit works good.

Instead of modding the front end,in order to install a FMIC I would rather go w/chemiccal intercooling,,,if posssible. @ least that is what I am leaning torwards.

I own a Syclone & have meth injection installed. Works great & keeps the KR's down & allows for more boost, more timing,,,more so than a FMIC IMO.

I am considering that, who makes the AC vent one?

. Thanks for that!
