Knocking sound from the rear
Hi all
I have a 2006 A4 2.0 Quattro. I bought the car used and have only had it for a month. The whole time I have had it, I have a loud knocking sound coming from the rear of the car. It only happens when I am idling at a red light or just after I have turned the car off after driving it. The only thing I can think of is possibly the fuel pump or maybe even the fuel filter. Not a suspension issue, because it would happen while moving. Noise sound like it is coming from the trunk. Any help would be awesome. Thanks ahead of time!!!

I think you might be on to something with the fuel pump/gauge assembly has come loose. Next time you get in the car, turn the ignition on till the instrument panel warning lights come on, but don't start the car. Listen to see if you hear the sound then. If you do, it is probably the pump/gauge assembly
