Default Looking At an A4

Currently looking for a car for daily driving. Something I can play around with and Have some fun. I am looking at a b7 A4, the main reason why I like them is the looks and seem to have a bit more power compared to earlier years.

I noticed alot of people perfer the 2.0T over the 3.2, why is that? The 3.2 has more power and you would think with the same amount of money you could get just as much power. The only thing I have against the 4 banger is that I am buying it used and worried about reliablity. I am looking for a 6spd, AWD that gets decent gas mileage but also has some guts to. Its alot to ask I know, just picking your guys brains and what you think.

Also any problems I should be on the look for or know of? I have heard that the A4s can burn a quart or 2 between oil changes what causes that?

Thanks Cody

The reason people prefer the 2.0T is tunability. Just by chipping you'll reprogram the ECU to run the turbo at higher boost, and you'll be putting out more than a 3.2. Plus you'll get better mileage.

As for oil consumption, it seems to vary from car to car. I just had to add a quart for the first time at 14000 miles, so just shy of my next scheduled maintenance.

i was just wondering about these new/newer engines burning a quart of oil per oil change. Anyone know whats the cause of this? Makes me worried about how long they will last

Its a problem with the PCV valve, the excess pressure of the FSI engine tends to blow too much oil into the intake and audi does have an upgraded valve to install now i believe. There should be a TSB for it, just go to the dealer and tell them its burning oil.
As for engines, i prefer the 3.2L, you can't beat that torque the engine puts out
Plus tuning the 2.0T motor can be expensive because the high pressure fuel pump will have to be upgraded for anything higher than 260hp which is super expensive.
