Maintenance question
In Febuary, I got a 2006 A4 2.0T S-line Titanium which we love. When we bought the car, it had ~15k miles on it and we bought it from a Mitsubishi dealer that specialized in used A4's (wierd, but they had ~ 30 to choose from...) The car supposedly went through the Audi 'certification' program, but was not certified as they were not an Audi dealer. This seemed plausible as it had some Audi certified paperwork, new rotors, new tires, all the books, keys etc as you would expect from a certified car. The question is, now the car has 19,500 miles and the service warning is now on in the display at start up. Why would this happen when the next service should be at 25k miles. Any ideas? There is a stamp in the maintenance book showing the 15k maintenance was performed by VW Credit Audi Financial Services in January with 15k miles.
When I called an Audi dealer they basically said ignore the dash and bring it in at 25k miles. I race turbo cars and worry about oil even though this car is driven VERY gently. Anyone else experience this?

RE: Maintenance question
ya lke dmfan016 said, when was the last time you changed your oil? i know audi says to only change it every 10k at the schedualed maintenance, but with turbo engines and audi's being so tempermental etc, it is recommended that you change the oil out every 5k and some even go every 3k for those who drive hard. My car currently has ~42500 miles on it, and i am going to change my oil tmrw even tho the next oil change is only 2500k miles, but i just bought the car CPO about a month ago so im sure the oil hasnt been changed since 35k and i feel that it is probably better from the car to go ahead and change it now rather than waiting another 2500k...
