Default Mods after stage 2+?

Any suggestions for mods? So far I have short throw shifter, testpipe, catback exhaust, APR high pressure fuel pump, APR stage 2+, APR snubmount, underdrive pulley, OEM Revision "d" valve, Carbonio air intake. What would you suggest my next mod to be enginewise? I am not sure how many hp I have right now but I will probably dyno it next week. Thanks!

I'd definately look into a front mount intercooler. You'll get a lower charge temperature and 10-20 extra HP easily.

Yeah. Intercooler and Water Meth Inhection which I hear works awesome. Don't ask me anymore on that as i'm no expert. I just know alot of the GTI guys do Meth injection.

Other than those 2 you are pretty much topped out without getting a bigger turbo. There are reasonable K04 kits that are a direct swap but you are in the $4k range at least. That would put you in the 350 whp range though. Or if you swap your internals you can go bigger. Money $$$$$$

What about the stock turbo? Can I mess with it?

You are done with that stock turbo. Like I said. I would look into Meth, Intercooler, then bigger turbo. In that order. Like I said people have great results hp wise with the meth so I would research that on Vortex or even the MKV gti forums since its the same motor.

Thats about it man.

APR does a mod with the stock turbo.....basically you send the turbo unit to apr and they take the intake part of the turbo and swap it with a bigger fan, so you keep the exhaust part of the turbo and a newer intake spindle (i really dont know what you would call it) piece is attached to it.....

fmic is good, prolly gonna want to look into clutches, also (which im assuming you've done) is tires.....need some good rubber before anything else

Do you mean ATP? I don't believe APR has a hybrid kit. ASP upgrades the turbine of the internal to increase horsepower while keeping the turbo appearance stock.

$2k on a K03 pea shooter? Spend another $1K and get a bigger turbo.

Well Red was asking if there was anything that could be done with the stock turbo. You were correct in that he has already done all the power mods he can to his car without messing with the turbo. The mild kit that ATP has is an upgrade to the stock turbo without upgrading the whole turbo.

The problem that you run into with at 450 HP kit is the internals. Most people say that the stock pistons and connecting rods can handle around 400 crank horsepower. Anything over that would be too much without going forged.

So the difference in price from 350 hp mild kit to 450 hp big kit would be more than the $1000 once you did an engine rebuild.
