Im lookin to do some mod's to the A4 2.0T that will not void the warranty. I just need more power out of this car! haha I love the car but it is just too slow. Any Ideas? and where can i buy them?

Mods won't void your warranty. The mod has to be the cause of an issue to invalidate the warranty and has to be proven to have done so. There's some law (I can't remember the name) that states that. Some dealers are more mod friendly than others. You might call the service department and speak to a tech and get their opinion on mods, just to feel em out. You can also do what I did and get the software for your car with the stock program so you can "turn off" your software when taking it for service. My APR guy said the only way they'll know it's chipped is if you leave it on and they drive it (cause it's hella faster). I love my software and it turns on and off with the cruise control stalk. The chip adds major torque and some great horsepower. You won't be disappointed.

 

hmm realley? Well ya i will def talk to them about it. And how much faster are we talkin with just a chip? And where do i get this chip we are talking about? haha i KNOW nothing about this car! lol what is all involved into doin this mod. Let me know whats up? And thats all i need to do is chip it?? Google “Magnusson Moss Warranty Act.� It states that if something fails on your car (let’s say your clutch goes out), the dealer has to prove that whatever mods you made caused the clutch to go out Also obviously if you put new suspension your audi, you suspenesion warranty is now gone, they absolutely don't have to warrantee parts that are not theirs to begin with. The problem with all this is, if you chip your car, that does effect you engine. It could be viewed as havng a larege umbrella over the funcitoning of your engine, and dealerships have been known to be cheep and interested in not paying for repairs they think they can get out of.

 

exactly they will find a way to blame the mod u do on why the problem happened. but how would they know if i chipped the car? I dont honestly even know if that is noticeable.. thats what i am trying to find otu. and how much of a differance does the chip make? and how? does it up the boost? or what does it even do?

ok i searched and none of my questions were answered. It says nothing of the new 0-60 and 1/4 mile times compared to stock. AndI found nothing about what the chip actually does... does it up the boost? or what does it do? Im definately interested in getting this chip! Im sick of how slow this car is, i dont want a race car just want a lil extra power! I dont wanna race the car but if im bored i like messin around every now and then and i barely beat a civic dx with exhaust only (so he says) and i just wanna know how this chip works and how it gives you more power.... and I was also lookin at that APR intake... does that do much?

 

From what I understand the Dealer still gets paid for warrenty work. Its a manufacturer's warranty. So the dealer gets paid from audi instead of you. So the only reason they would have to void it is if audi won't pay for it. like something broke due to increase strain not caused by factory settings ie; increased boost messed up the DV and audi comes back and said thats not our fault.
